Your first part of the synopsis was correct, although I still feel you are being a little too harsh in stating you are "highly critical" of the Bush administration. If you acknowledge the difficulty and critical need to go into Afghanistan, I'd like to see more proof of negligence and poor planning, but it definitely bears watching. I guess we are both hoping you are wrong.
You left out a very critical point in my argument in your major criticism of my position though. Which is that spreading democracy and freedom is the best long term solution to eliminating terrorist states which will threaten our safety. I specifically stated we are not doing this with purely noble intentions. In the end, it is the best solution for both us and them.
You're comparison to poverty is specious, but as you stated, you knew that when you wrote it. I'd like to eliminate crime and drug abuse too. But human nature being what it is, that's not possible is it? If I went any further than that, we'd be into another topic which we should save for another time.
So I guess you are saying that spreading freedom and democracy to this part of the world is specious as well. I don't, and yes, that is where we disagree then.
